This 1893 Tasmanian oak weatherboard, Cloud River Farm, enjoys a gorgeous and generous verandah, which looks out onto the property’s Huon Valley location. “In the mornings, the cloud sits on the river and literally floats along and heads down toward Bruny Island. It’s incredible to watch,” says owner Mark.

Comfy vintage daybeds and a sparkling chandelier have transformed an old verandah into a shabby chic retreat. That’s because the verandah is where Byron Bay homeowner and dressmaker Michelle Douglas does the majority of her work, designing and sewing clothing for her two labels Meg By Design and Chapel & Co.
